How Far in Advance Should I Place My Order?
Usually 2 weeks in advance will do for celebration cakes, but we can book up months in advance during wedding season. To be safe, get in touch with us as soon as you know the date of your party. For wedding cakes, most clients book us as soon as they know they’re engaged—that way they’re much more likely to secure their wedding date.
How Do I Place an Order?
Please fill out and submit the get a quote form form the site menu. We will contact you with a quote or to set up a design appointment. Or you can send an email to: arniesweets.orders@gmail.com ! In your email, please let us know the date of the event, how many people the cake will serve and as many details as possible about the cake you’re ordering for your special occasion.
How Much Are Your Cakes?
Our custom-made cakes are priced individually per serving. The final cost depends on the intricacy of the design
How Do I Pay For My Cake and Secure My Date?
All orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of the order to hold the date, with the balance due two (1) week prior to delivery/pick up. Cake orders placed with less than two weeks notice require payment in full at the time of ordering. For wedding cakes, we do accept 50% deposit until all design details have been approved , and balance due 2 weeks before the wedding date. We accept cash or e-transfer.
Can I Schedule a Tasting Appointment?
After we chat on the phone about your special event, we’ll either invite you in for a design consultation and tasting, or arrange a time for you to swing by and pick up a tasting box. There is a non-refundable $45 fee for tastings.
Can I Visit Your Studio?
Sorry to disappoint, but we’re not that kind of bakery. We are by-appointment only. Since we make everything to order, I’m afraid we are not open to the public as a walk-in place to buy sweet treats.
Do You Deliver?
Yes, we deliver all our cakes throughout Ottawa and Gatineau. Delivery charges vary, depending on the distance from our studio . Please contact us for a quotation. We don’t recommend clients self-transport carved/3D cakes, or cakes over 10 inches tall and are not responsible for any damage that may occur to any client-transported cake once it has left our studio (although if we can, we will do anything we can to help).
Can I taste your cakes?
Absolutely. You may order a sample box of five flavors of cake. We package it up & include some other sweets that may be on offer that week. The cost of this box is $35. We do offer Cake tasting for weddings during consultation .
